Implementing the New Visual Arts Standards: Learning Progressions—Demonstrating Student Growth
The standards provide learning progressions from Prek-12. The concepts embedded in the standards reflect the scope of learning – the knowledge, skills and understandings taught through the study of the visual arts. Participants will gain an understanding of the grade-by-grade progressions and learn how the new standards can be cluster grouped through unit planning and presented authentically to demonstrate artistic growth over time. Parallel components with the Common Core State Standards and 21st Century Skills will be shared. Through this Webinar, participants will be shown techniques for teaching the standards through varied teaching learning settings.
Presenters: Dennis Inhulsen, NAEA President and Chair of the Visual Arts Writing Team, and Joyce Huser
